Preliminary announcement2020 Entrance Examination new

  The following information is currently available regarding the 2020 Entrance Examination. Please be aware that this information may be updated later as necessary.

                                   

                                                 Notification

 

    1.  Program: Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Master’s Course

 

    2.  Type of examination: International Students Special Admissions

 

    3.  Departments: Mechanical Engineering; Electrical and Electronics Engineering;

         Architecture and Architectural Engineering; Chemistry, Biotechnology, and

         Chemical Engineering; Information Science and Biomedical Engineering;

         Mathematics and Computer Science; Physics and Astronomy; and Chemistry and

         Bioscience.

 

    4.  Changes:

        (1) In order to evaluate the candidate’s Japanese language proficiency,

             a document verifying a) the score or b)the certification described below

             must be included in the application documents. No Japanese language

             examination will be held on the examination day.

          a)  Examination for Japanese University Admission for International

               Students (EJU): a score of 220 or above on the Japanese proficiency

               section (excluding the written examination) and a score of 30 or above

               on the written examination

          b)  Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT): N1 or N2

          ※  Any document verifying a) the score or b)the certification included

               with your application documents must reflect the results of an examination

               taken after January 1, 2017.

 

        (2) If you have graduated from a Japanese university or will do so by March

              2020, you are exempt from the above requirement.

 

        (3) If your native language is not English, you are also required to submit

              either a TOEIC or TOEFL score when you submit your admission application.

 

[Note] Please check the 2020 Admission Procedure carefully as application documents differ for each department and whether your mother language is English or not.

How to obtain the application forms

◎By post

To receive the application forms by post, please send a self-addressed envelope with stamps for ¥400 (¥780 for express delivery) to the address below. Please write “Request for master’s course application forms” in red ink near the university’s address.

To collect the application forms in person, please visit the office of the Graduate Admissions Officer, School of Science and Engineering (1st floor “Kyotsuto”) between 9am and 5pm(except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays).
